What does "namaste" mean??

NAMASTE(pronounced nah-mah-stay): The word breaks down as "I bow to you", and combined with the gesture of bringing the hands to the heart and slightly bowing the head, it has served as a Hindu greeting for thousands of years. Namaste is a sign of deep respect and an acknowledgement that each of us is divine. Given this, we honor the spark of divinity in ourselves and others. At the end of each class, namaste also expresses respect and gratitude for the lineage of past teachers and for our fellow students; its beauty and simplicity also remind us of the basic spiritual truth common to many doctrines: We are all one.
